Small tweaks, big results.

On the surface this Trek seemed in a bit of a sorry state, but mechanically it was in decent order with the exception of the rear freehub which had been subject to a tin of green paint falling on it. It was gummed up beyond belief, so that had to go.
After the customary deep clean a new wheelset got it rolling smoothly again, reshod with some beautiful WTB Nanos. Fast, but very grippy; good for all seasons.
Next up the gearing was simplified to 1x7 with a new crankset, Hope chainring and some lovely Dia Compe bolts. The pedals here were a test set of Sim Works Bubbly, though they went across to the Tandem to be replaced by a more grippy option. The headset also got replaced with a sealed cartridge unit so no worries about pitting it riding over rough ground.
Lastly it was just a case of swapping the contact points, with some spruced up brake levers, swept bars, Fabric saddle and some big chunky Ritchey grips, plus some colour matching ferrules and chainstay protection.
And now its ripping it up in sunny Cornwall, which makes me very happy. Dont let the cruiser bars deceive you, this thing is rapid.
